We Started the First Akwasidae Outside Ghana in UK Years Ago to Promote Our Culture – Rev. Dr. CNN-Mensah

Rev. Dr. CNN-Mensah has revealed that the first Akwasidae celebration held outside Ghana was started in the United Kingdom several years ago as part of efforts to showcase and promote Ashanti and Ghanaian culture.

Speaking on iKulcha TV and Radio Kulcha following the recent Akwasidae celebration in the United States attended by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and his team, Rev. Dr. CNN-Mensah said the initiative has helped take Ghanaian cultural heritage beyond the country’s borders.

According to him, the overseas Akwasidae celebrations provide an important platform for Ghanaians and people of African descent abroad to connect with and appreciate Ashanti traditions, history and cultural values.

He explained that the UK initiative was established years ago with the aim of promoting Ghanaian culture internationally and creating opportunities for the diaspora to participate in traditional celebrations.

Rev. Dr. CNN-Mensah said the recent Akwasidae in the United States demonstrates the growing international interest in Ashanti culture and the importance of preserving and promoting Ghana’s heritage globally.

He added that such celebrations could strengthen cultural connections between Ghana and its diaspora while introducing younger generations abroad to their roots and traditions.
