Ghanaian painter, TAFA has said he no longer believes in the existence of witches, explaining that his views changed after he began questioning the idea about a decade ago.
Speaking on iKulcha TV and Radio Kulcha, TAFA said he once believed in witches but eventually challenged his own understanding of the concept.
“I believed in witches sometime ago, but since I questioned the witches idea some 10 years ago, I believe there’s no witches anywhere in Africa,” TAFA said.
The artist’s comments touch on long-standing beliefs about witchcraft in parts of Africa, where accusations of witchcraft have sometimes had serious social consequences.
