
The Dean of Student Affairs at Mampong Technical Institute, Daniel Koranteng, has described teacher licensure as a positive development that should be welcomed and embraced by stakeholders in the education sector.
Speaking on Kulcha with Kwesi E Baako on iKulcha TV and Radio, Mr. Koranteng said the introduction of teacher licensure should no longer be viewed as a challenge but rather as an opportunity to strengthen professionalism and accountability among educators.
“Teacher licensure is no longer a problem; it is something the world has welcomed, and we must embrace it,” he said.
According to him, the move reflects global standards for ensuring that teachers possess the required skills, knowledge, and professional competence to deliver quality education. He encouraged teachers and prospective educators to see the licensing process as a step towards improving the status and credibility of the teaching profession.
Mr. Koranteng further emphasized the need for continuous support and collaboration among educational institutions, policymakers, and teachers to make the system effective and beneficial for all.
