Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame has been appointed an honorary member of the Rastafari Council in Ghana, according to veteran journalist Kwesi E Baako.
Kwesi E Baako made the revelation while speaking with Okyeame Kwame on Ikulcha TV and Radio Kulcha, where the two discussed the musician’s relationship with Rastafarian culture and his contributions to society.
According to Kwesi E Baako, the honorary recognition reflects the respect Okyeame Kwame has earned within the Rastafarian community and his engagement with issues surrounding African identity, culture and development.
The announcement adds another dimension to Okyeame Kwame’s longstanding public advocacy for African culture and social development. The musician has consistently used his music and public platform to promote Ghanaian identity, environmental awareness and initiatives focused on national development.
The honorary appointment also highlights the intersection between Ghana’s creative arts community and the Rastafari movement, which has played a significant role in the country’s cultural and musical landscape.
Speaking on Ikulcha TV and Radio Kulcha, Kwesi E Baako, who also doubles as the co-Chairman of the Media and Public Relations Commission of the Rastafari Council, Ghana (RCG), shared the information directly with Okyeame Kwame, bringing attention to the musician’s connection with the Rastafarian Council and its significance.
An obviously elated Okyeame Kwame heartily accepteds the honor, expressing his appreciation for the recognition.
