Lawyer Ohene Gyan, counsel for New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has publicly addressed the circumstances surrounding his client’s jail sentence, arguing that both the Attorney-General and the court lacked sufficient evidence to justify the decision.
Speaking during an interview on iKulcha TV and Radio Kulcha with host Kwesi E. Baako, Lawyer Ohene Gyan maintained that the prosecution failed to present credible evidence capable of sustaining the court’s ruling. According to him, the legal process raised serious concerns about fairness and due process.
He stressed that the defence team remains confident in Wontumi’s legal position and is committed to pursuing every lawful avenue to challenge the ruling. Ohene Gyan also urged the public to allow the judicial process to continue while avoiding speculation surrounding the case.
