I Have A Covenant To Deliver Talensi Seat For NPP – Duanab Wuni
The District Chief Executive for Talensi District and a parliamentary candidate aspirant of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Thomas Duanab Wuni has declared he is doing everything possible to win the seat for his party in the forthcoming 2024 Elections.
The DCE, in an interview, said he has a covenant with his party to deliver the seat in next year’s polls and will leave no stone unturned to fulfill his pledge to leadership and members of the NPP.
“If my product was falling, you think I would be putting my money in an election, I wouldn’t. Because I am positively aware that where I am getting to, if things go well, 2024 I will be a Member of Parliament for Talensi,” he stated.
“I must get it for my people. I have a covenant with my political party to win this seat for that party. That’s a do or die affair. It is! That’s my commitment level. My expectations are very high. I have assured my party that I’m going to win the seat for them. That’s the assurance. I have 80 percent chance of winning the seat”.
Mr. Duanab Wuni has contested the seat since 2015 in an attempt to snatch it back for his party.
Though, he lost in all three (3) contests, he has high hopes that he will make it in next year’s polls.
The DCE is facing a keen competition from two (2) persons in the NPP parliamentary primaries in the constituency slated for December 2, 2024. but has disclosed that he stands a better chance of snatching the seat for the governing party and should be given the nod.
He claims voters, in the past elections, were torn between him and the current MP for the area Benson Tongo Baba because they are people of same calibre but chose the latter since he is older.
He believes since B. T. Baba is no longer in the race, he is the people’s choice.
“I contested elections with a senior brother of mine, the voters were torn between two persons of same kind. Now, I’m going as me, my brother is no more there.
