In the words of Honourable Marcus Garvey “We must canonize our own saints, create our own martyrs, and elevate to positions of fame and honour, black men and women who have made distinct contribution to our racial history”. The “African Man of the Millennium” Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah’s vision of a redeemed and united Africa is yet to be realized. The aim of his 7-year development plan; “to establish in Ghana a strong and progressive society in which no one will have any anxiety about the basic means of life, about work food and shelter; where poverty and illiteracy no longer exist, and disease is brought under control; and where our educational facilities provide all the children of Ghana with the best possible opportunities for the development of their potentialities” have still not been realized.

On this note the Rastafari Council, Ghana acknowledges that one of the best ways, we can honour him is to recommit and rededicate ourselves to the noble task of restoring the dignity we once upheld as a people by championing the vision of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
