Rastafari Women Organize Health Drive For Community

The Women’s Commission of the Rastafari Council Ghana (RCG) in collaboration with Connect the Youth and 99 Wings of Hope organized a successful Healthy Community Drive in the Amanfrom Zongo enclave.

The event took place at the Amanfrom Health Centre on the 22nd of July 2023 in commemoration of H.I.M. Emperor Haile Selassie I’s 131st birthday. The Women’s Commission was able to carry out its role of caring for the youth and mothers through the support in funds of the Rastafari community both Home and Abroad.

Speaking to Ghnewsnow, the RCG Women’s Commissioner, Empress Safi Najeh said, “We are grateful for the support from our members and collaborators.” She added that the drive is in direct response to His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie’s charge to humanity to be each other’s keeper and to be mindful of taking care of particularly the weak and vulnerable.

“His Majesty charged us to ‘Let the hungry be fed, the naked clothed, the sick nourished, the aged protected and the infants cared for”. This is our commission; this is why we are doing and will continue to do this”, she said.
