Kwesi E Baako Explains Why Ghana’s Parliament Has Lost the People’s Trust

Political commentator  Kwesi E Baako has explained what he believes are the reasons behind the growing loss of public confidence in Ghana’s Parliament.

Speaking on iKulcha TV and Radio Kulcha, Mr. Baako expressed concern about the conduct and performance of the legislature, noting that certain developments have contributed to a perception among citizens that Parliament is no longer adequately serving their interests.

He said the situation should be taken seriously, stressing the need for Members of Parliament to restore public confidence by demonstrating greater accountability, responsibility and commitment to the people they represent.

According to him, Parliament plays a critical role in Ghana’s democratic governance, and its credibility depends largely on the conduct of lawmakers and the extent to which they uphold the public interest.

Mr. Baako therefore called for renewed efforts to strengthen public trust in the institution and ensure that Parliament remains responsive to the concerns and expectations of Ghanaians.
