Dr. Ben Yeboah has explained that mosquitoes found in Europe and America can transmit diseases different from those commonly associated with mosquitoes in tropical regions.
Speaking on Ikulcha TV and Radio Kulcha, Dr. Yeboah said the mosquitoes found in Europe and America are not the same ones responsible for transmitting malaria in tropical areas.
According to him, mosquitoes in those regions can transmit other infections, including West Nile virus.
He made the comments during a discussion on tropical diseases, highlighting the differences in mosquito-borne illnesses across geographical regions.
Dr. Yeboah urged the public to understand that mosquito-borne diseases vary depending on the mosquito species and the region in which they are found.
He said awareness of these differences is important for people to take appropriate preventive measures against mosquito-borne infections.
