We Did Not Nurse Plans To take Over PSC Tema Shipyard -Ghana Ports And Harbours Authority

 

The Corporate Marketing and Public Affairs Manager, at The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, Paul Asare Ansah, said, GPHA is waiting for Government to officially announce to them, the possible take-over of the management of PSC Tema Shipyard and Dry Dock Company.

Government, through a Cabinet decision agreed that, Ghana Ports and Habours Authority takes over the management of PSC Tema Shipyard after workers of The Company, went on rampage, calling for the removal of both the Board Chairman Ali Tundey and CEO , for what they described as managerial ineptitude.

According to The Corporate Marketing and Public Affairs Manager, Paul Asare Ansah, Ghana Ports and Habours Authority has the managerial skills and the know-how to manage the affairs of PSC Tema Shipyard And Dry Dock Company.

He stressed that GHPA never had intentions of managing PSC Tema Shipyard, inspite of the bailout it extended to Government of buying sixty percent shares from the Malaysian Government. He noted that PSC Tema Shipyard is of strategic importance to The Ghana Ports and Habours Authority, even though GPHA has a similar facility at The Takoradi Ports.

He speaking to ghnewsnow.com, he welcomed the possible transfer to Ghana Ports and Habours Authority. Adding that, GPHA have been investing in PSC Tema Shipyard since time immemorial considering its strategic importance to The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority.

He affirmed that the possible transfer of management will have positive repercussions to Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority. Delving deeper, The Corporate Marketing and Public Affairs Manager, Paul Asare Ansah, declined commenting on some of the managerial issues raised by the workers which led to the possible take-over by GPHA.
