The Chief Executive Officer of Reroy Cables, Kate Quartey-Papafio says industrialists need to pace up their efforts to enable them realize the fortunes of what she describes as ‘a fortunate continent’.
She claims the African industrialist has the desire and potential to power the economy with the essential support of all stakeholders.
“Africa is ripe for industrialization. This is the time of the African industrialist. A strong and positive trajectory, rapid urbanisation, stable and improving economic and political environment have opened a window of opportunity for Africa to achieve economic transformation. We need to continue striving to not only hold our own, but also excel in the land of our birth and on the continent we so proudly call home.”
She’s asked Ghanaian manufacturing industries not to waste time to do more to improve the economy once the current power crisis is resolved.
“Looking around us, the key to achieving the desired transformation is power, so I am of the opinion that there is no time for us when the current power situation is fixed — without power we can’t produce, we can’t grow.”
She made these observation at a lecture in Accra on the topic ‘Has the African industrialist failed to live up to the name?’
