Despite several verbal and written warnings by the Ashanti Regional Lands Commission on commercialization of public school lands and open spaces in the region, the practice seems to have fallen into deaf ears.
It has come to the notice of ghnewsnow.com community watch team that people are encroaching on lands belonging to Prempeh College.
Parents, Guardians and students have expressed worry about the development around the school, while several calls to the school authorities and the KMA go unanswered. Attempts to speak with the encroachers also proved futile.
Ghnewsnow learned that the activities of these encroachers have resulted in the demolishing of part of the school wall which is vital for the security of the students. Our team learned that these parts of the school wall will now be reconstructed as shops.Below are copies of warning letters issued to MMDA’S after the 91st meeting of the commission held in February. Ghnewsnow will follow with keen interests and furnish readers with up to date information .
