
The Head of Department at St. Monica’s College of Education, Madam Akosua Baah, has stated that a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is now the basic academic qualification required to teach in colleges.
Speaking in an interview on iKulcha TV and Radio Kulcha, Madam Baah explained that the increasing emphasis on higher academic standards and quality teacher education has made the PhD an essential requirement for lecturers in colleges.
Her comments highlight the evolving qualifications expected of tertiary educators as institutions seek to strengthen research, innovation, and the quality of teaching.
