Celebrated Ghanaian reggae icon Shasha Marley has opened up about his recent promotional tour in Kenya, citing the country’s deep connection with his music as the main reason for choosing it as the launchpad for his latest album, AFRICA RISE.

Speaking with Kwesi E Baako on Radio Kulcha’s Weekend’s show, the “Twin City” hitmaker shared that Kenya has embraced his sound and message for years,  a bond he felt deserved to be honoured.

“My music has had a great impact in Kenya; that’s why I went there to promote my new album,” Shasha Marley stated. “From ‘I’m Not Ashamed of the Gospel’ to ‘Maata Family,’ the Kenyan people have shown me love and appreciation in a way that’s truly humbling.”

Shasha Marley’s new album, Africa Rise, is a spiritually uplifting and politically conscious project that echoes the themes he has championed for decades,  African unity, social justice, peace, and cultural pride.

Shasha Marley performed on several major media platforms, held listening sessions in Nairobi, and engaged with fellow East African musicians.
