An aide to NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has addressed growing public curiosity over who may be selected as the Vice Presidential running mate for the 2028 elections.
Aboagye clarified that the choice of a running mate lies solely with the flagbearer, working in consultation with the party’s National Council. He emphasized that finishing second, third, or fourth in a party contest is not a determining factor in the selection process.
According to him, while all the aspirants who contested alongside Dr. Bawumia are qualified individuals and potential choices, their participation in the race alone does not automatically position them for the role of running mate.
Aboagye further explained that the decision will be guided by specific indicators aimed at identifying the most suitable and strategic candidate, one who best complements Dr. Bawumia and enhances the party’s chances of achieving its desired electoral outcome.
