Today,we shine the spotlight on JAHWYZ.
One of the artists on the Ghana reggae/ dancehall scene who really turns heads is Jahwyz. This budding youth has a voice that many immediately fall in love with. For good or bad reason, Jahwyz has been compared to and often mistaken for Buju Banton. Both in style and voice, one can be forgiven for mistaking his ‘Rally Round’ to be Buju’s latest cut. Whether this is a good or bad thing for an artist is another conversation to be had.

After several years of performing in Ghana Jahwyz seems all poised to explode on the world stage. His style as has been hinted is a morph between Buju Banton and Israel Vibrations.
“In a world faced with many new challenges and massive social upheaval brought about by new media, and an increasingly repressive world government, I represent an astounding new perspective on life for conscious people all over the world who have been awaiting a new message of hope and perseverance”, he told Ghnewsnow.
“Through the self pollution, manipulation and illusion, my people know yourselves” JAHWYZ sums up the message in his music. He embodies the music he sings and performs.
“The blood of my ancestors running through my veins oh yeah, righteousness I proclaim
“Open up my third eye so I can differentiate what is illusion from reality”
“Escaping the system’s brutally” “Ready we are ready, cos a Rasta never weary”
JAHWYZ is certainly ready with a message of conscious awakening and self determination. A message of love, peace and co dependence.
This humble and soft spoken young artist says his music is purely a reflection of the life he lives and the things he sees.
He says he like to live his life as an example for all youth while observing issues that affect other people’s life and comfort from a distance.
Son of the legendary Kwesi Ranking of the famous Ranking Crew Sound System, JAHWYZ heads the Ranking Family, with a huge following in Accra and beyond.
Locally, JAHWYZ has collaborated with Shatta Wale, Na Yu, and Ra’s Duah, based in Australia.
JAHWYZ is putting together a collection of original tracks to be released as an EP in the near future, with an international tour planned after the release.
