Departed Ghanaian music legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu aka Daddy Lumba did not trust European or white doctors and preferred Ghanaian doctors. This is why he opted to have his surgery in Ghana instead of in Germany or elsewhere in Europe.
This was disclosed by a very close friend Juaben Fosu a close friend since 1983. Juaben Fosu, a resident of Cologne, Germany who has known the legend since school days said Daddy Lumba opted for treatment in Ghana even though he had access to the German healthcare system.
Speaking on a podcast with YouTuber Big Scout Media, the close confidant revealed that the legend had a covert distrust of “white doctors” because of how Bob Marley died.
“The reason why he did not opt to have the surgery done here (in Germany) is because Daddy Lumba is one person who did not trust white people… all because of how Bob Marley died”, he said

He said the surgery cost Daddy Lumba $40,000 and was performed at the same clinic where former president John Agyekum Kuffour had his surgery.
“Apart from check ups and some minor procedures, he may show up for those; but for him to be operated on by them, because of what happened to Bob Marley; he told me he does not trust white doctors.
Daddy Lumba passed away last week drawing a barrage of tributes and stories of people’s experiences with him from prior times.
Juaben Fosu revealed that Daddy Lumba had been sick for about 15 years and had surgery resulting from an accident he had earlier but ignored to treat before it resulted in an issue with his spine.
He also revealed that the celebrated artist used his name in as many as 3 of his songs.
“Apart from his wife Serwaa, he has never used anyone’s name in as many songs”, he boasted.
