Four Deputy Ministers have been formally sworn in by President John Dramani Mahama to support his administration’s implementation of important policy initiatives in a number of sectors.
Following vetting on Friday, July 18, the ceremony took place after their nominations were approved by Parliament.
Among the newly appointed Deputy Ministers are:
Jomoro MP Dorcas Affo-Toffey, Deputy Minister of Transportation
Assin North MP James Gyakye Quayson is currently the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Sissala West MP Mohammed Adam Sukparu is the Deputy Minister of Innovation, Digital Technology, and Communication.
Essikado-Ketan MP Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah was sworn in as the Deputy Minister of Health.Purchase supplements and vitamins.
President Mahama advised the appointees to handle their responsibilities with honesty, commitment, and a results-oriented mindset.
It is anticipated that the new Deputy Ministers will promote the provision of public services in their respective areas and aid in the creation and execution of policies.
The government’s agenda on healthcare reforms, digital innovation, infrastructure development, and improved foreign relations is being advanced at the time of their nominations.
President Mahama denounced the recent attack on JoyNews journalist Carlos Calony by armed military soldiers during a demolition operation at Spintex on Wednesday, July 30 in a separate remark made during the ceremony.
He reaffirmed his administration’s steadfast support for press freedom and voiced his severe displeasure of the occurrence.
