The Vice President’s Office Should Mop Up Many Of The Social Issues In Ghana For The President To Focus On The Larger Picture – Kwesi E Baako

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang speaks after sudden illness; expresses gratitude to Ghanaians

Kwesi E Baako has called for a stronger role for the Vice President’s office in addressing Ghana’s pressing social challenges.

Speaking on his programme on Ikulcha Radio and TV, Mr. Baako argued that the Vice President’s office led by Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyemang, should “mop up” many of the country’s social issues to enable the President to concentrate on broader national and strategic matters.

According to him, concerns such as the recent killing of children, sanitation, community-level disputes, and other social interventions require focused coordination and supervision. He suggested that empowering the Vice President’s office to take charge of these areas would improve efficiency in governance.

He stressed that the President must focus on the larger picture,  economic transformation, international relations, and long-term policy direction while the Vice President’s office deals with many of the pressing social issues.
