“An Accessory To Crime Is Not The Same As A Victim Of Circumstances” – Kwesi E Baako Corrects Captain Smart.

Renowned journalist and political analyst and pan-African, Kwesi E. Baako has issued a sharp rebuttal to media personality Captain Smart over his public defense of dancehall artist Shatta Wale in the ongoing controversy surrounding a Lamborghini the musician recently acquired.

In a strongly worded statement, Kwesi E. Baako whille speaking livc on Facebook, asserted that if the Lamborghini was indeed stolen, then Shatta Wale is not just a victim of fraud, but potentially an accessory to a criminal offense, whether knowingly or unknowingly.

The drama began when rumors surfaced that the Lamborghini Shatta Wale flaunted on social media might be listed as stolen property abroad, triggering discussions across the media landscape. Captain Smart, a known supporter of the artist, quickly jumped to his defense, claiming that the musician had done nothing wrong and was simply a target of unnecessary criticism.

Baako reminded the public, and Captain Smart,  that under most legal systems, receiving or purchasing stolen goods (especially without proper verification of origin) can make a person criminally liable, even if they didn’t personally steal the item.

Kwesi E. Baako also took issue with the growing trend of media figures defending celebrities uncritically, urging journalists and broadcasters to maintain objectivity and uphold truth over fanfare.

While no official charges have been publicly confirmed as of now, Baako stressed the importance of letting law enforcement and international agencies complete their investigations.
