Prof. Frimpong-Boateng Among Those Contracted To Destroy The NPP – Justin Kodua Frimpong

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has alleged that Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng is part of a group purportedly working to destabilize the party and weaken its internal unity.

Speaking in an interview on Ezra FM, Mr. Kodua said intelligence reports available to the party indicate that certain individuals within the NPP—including some founding members and senior party figures—have allegedly been financially induced to foment division and internal strife.

“Our intelligence suggests that there are people in the party, some of them founding leaders, who have been paid to act against the NPP. Their objective is to sow confusion, create division, and cause misunderstandings within the party,” he stated.

According to the General Secretary, these actions are strategically aimed at derailing efforts to reunify the party following the January 31 presidential primary and ultimately undermine its prospects in the 2028 general elections.

“They know that after the January 31 presidential hopefuls’ election, the party will come together again to work towards victory in 2028. That is why they are attempting to disrupt the peace before that happens,” he explained.

Mr. Kodua said he was particularly disappointed in Prof. Frimpong-Boateng, whom he mentioned as one of the individuals allegedly involved in the scheme.

“I considered Prof. Frimpong-Boateng to be among those who have been paid to do this. It is painful to see that he has changed and would want to take such actions against his own party,” he said.

He further criticized remarks attributed to the former minister, especially comments describing the NPP as “fake,” arguing that such statements are harmful and unwarranted.

“He is making comments he should not be making. How can he publicly describe the party as fake? That is not helpful to the NPP at all,” Mr. Kodua said.

The General Secretary also questioned the timing of Prof. Frimpong-Boateng’s comments, wondering why such concerns were not raised earlier. “If he truly believed the party was fake, why didn’t he say so in 2023? Why wait until 2026? What exactly is his motive?” he asked.
