Paul Afoko Rejects NPP Amnesty Conditions, Says He’s Focused On Farming

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman Paul Afoko has spoken out over the party’s amnesty for its suspended and breakaway members.

According to MyNewsgh, Afoko stated in an Okay FM interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese that other reporters had gotten in touch with him to offer their opinions on the situation, but he purposefully kept silent until the Okay FM host did.

“I have had several journalists calling me on this matter, but I refused to grant any interview until Kwame Nkrumah Tikese invited me. That is why I am speaking today,” he explained.

. “If reconciliation is conditional, then it defeats the purpose of forgiveness and true reconciliation.

“I will not come back as National Chairman even if I am given the chance. My focus now is on my farm. I have been farming ever since my indefinite suspension, and that is what I am committed to,” he said.

Afoko’s remarks follow days after Danquah Smith Buttey, the party’s Acting National Chairman, stated in a letter dated August 16, 2025, that all suspensions and pending disciplinary proceedings had been dropped in an attempt to promote harmony and togetherness.

Members who lose their membership, however, must apply to be reinstated and will not be allowed to run for office in internal party elections for two years.
