On Wednesday, August 13, hundreds of young organizers from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) flocked to the party’s headquarters in Accra to collect presidential candidacy forms on behalf of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in a daring demonstration of solidarity.
The delegation, which was made up of regional and constituency young organizers from all around the nation, entered the building wearing synchronized NPP-branded clothing while chanting party slogans and performing nationalistic songs.
Youth organizer Isaac Obeng told the media that the event was a major political moment as well as a celebration of youth.
“Yesterday was International Youth Day, and as youth organisers and deputies from various constituencies, we believe we cannot remain idle in our constituencies without marking this remarkable day,” he said.
“You can see here representatives of youth organisers from various constituencies who have come to pick this form, and from here we will move to his residence, his campaign office, where we will officially present the forms to him,” he note
