ORAL Has Collapsed, It’s better We Don’t Talk About It – A Plus

Kwame Asare Obeng, the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, popularly known as A Plus, has strongly asserted that the government’s anti-corruption initiative, ORAL, is no longer functioning.

Before returning to office, John Dramani Mahama had pledged to retrieve all alleged looted state resources from the previous administration, stressing that no one, including his own allies, would be exempt from accountability.

Ahead of his inauguration, a special team was constituted to collect evidence on corruption-related matters, including concerns over the sale of state lands.

However, in a recent interview, A Plus alleged that the ORAL initiative has collapsed due to corrupt practices within the current administration. He claimed that some individuals involved are withholding the truth from the president.

He further alleged that certain members connected to ORAL, along with their relatives, are in possession of government lands, adding that he has documents to support his claims. He criticized plans to investigate cases dating back to 2016, describing the approach as unserious.

One day when I get angry I will release everybody’s land documents and it includes people in this government. They know and now they know its their turn. I know people who just came, bought government land and they have finished building, I know all of them so no one should talk about ORAL again, ORAL has collapsed because they are not telling the president the truth,” he said.
