Legalising Cannabis Cultivation Will Bring Major Industrial Benefits – Nana Kwaku Agyemang

Nana Kwaku Agyemang has stated that Ghana stands to gain significant industrial benefits if the cultivation of cannabis is fully legalized and properly regulated.

Speaking on Ikulcha Radio/Ikulcha TV with host Kwesi E Baako, he argued that the controlled growing of cannabis, particularly industrial hemp, could open doors to new economic opportunities.

According to him, beyond recreational debates, cannabis has wide-ranging industrial applications, including in pharmaceuticals, textiles, cosmetics, paper production, and construction materials. He noted that several countries are already leveraging hemp for large-scale manufacturing and export, creating jobs and boosting revenue.

Nana Agyemang emphasized that with the right legal framework, Ghana could attract investment, stimulate agro-processing industries, and diversify its economy. He added that farmers could benefit from an alternative cash crop, provided the industry is strictly monitored to prevent abuse.
