Leave Mahama Out Of This, Questioning Shatta’s Taxes Over ‘Mahama Paper’ is Nonsense – Kwesi E Baako Fires Back at Captain Smart

Kwesi E Baako, has reacted to the recent comments made by media personality Captain Smart, describing his line of questioning around musician Shatta Wale’s performance of ‘Mahama Paper’ as “utterly nonsense.”

In a widely circulated video, Captain Smart insinuated that Shatta Wale may not have been paying taxes at the time he was vocally supporting former President John Dramani Mahama through his hit song ‘Mahama Paper’.

He further tied the musician’s public endorsement of Mahama to broader questions about accountability and state patronage.

“It is utterly nonsense for Captain Smart to be asking whether Shatta Wale was paying taxes when he was performing ‘Mahama Paper’,” Baako fired in a Facebook Live video. “What does that have to do with the issues on the table today? The issues has nothing to do with Mahama”

Baako went on to describe Captain Smart’s assertions as a deliberate attempt to blur lines between entertainment, political support, and governance.  “The Lamoghoni arrest has nothing to do with Mahama. Let’s not politicize every development.

Kwesi E Baako’s underscored growing concerns about the quality of political discourse in Ghana.

While Captain Smart has gained popularity for his confrontational style and outspokenness on corruption and governance, critics argue that he sometimes sacrifices depth for drama.
