Host of iKulcha TV and Radio Kulcha’s weekend Livestream, Kwesi E Baako has criticized the NPP’s acting National Chairman, Ekow Smith Danquah, after the politician failed to honour a scheduled interview on the platform last Sunday.
The highly anticipated interview was expected to address pressing concerns within the party and the current state of governance. However, Ekow Smith Danquah reportedly failed to appear or give any formal notice of cancellation, leaving the station and its audience hanging.
Kwesi Baako expressed disappointment not just over the missed appearance, but also what he described as a “pattern of disregard” by some political figures toward media platforms that don’t suit their agenda or timelines.
This incident reignites the conversation about accountability and accessibility in Ghana’s political space.
Many media observers argue that politicians, especially those in high-ranking positions, must be more respectful of the media and their commitments to public dialogue.
As of now, Ekow Smith Danquah has not issued any official comment or apology regarding the no-show.
For Kwesi E Baako, it’s not just about a missed interview, it’s a reflection of growing arrogance among those in political office at different levels.
In a monolgue delivered during the time alloted for the interview, Kwesi Baako described Mr. Smith Danquah as a ‘Brother’ whose family he knows personally and stated that he had asked his older brother to contact him for the interview, to which he agreed. He said he also called to confirm the interview and was given the affirmative but during the show and till now, Mr. Smith Danquah refused to show up, give a reason or apologize for what he describes as ‘pedestrian’ behavior.
