If Mahama Continues Like This, the NDC’s Reign Will Last Long – Bernard Edem Ahiekpor

Bernard Edem Ahiekpor has expressed optimism about the future of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ghana, citing what he described as a strong showing by former President John Dramani Mahama. Speaking on Ikucha Radio/TV in a discussion with veteran Kwesi E. Baako, Ahiekpor said the early signs from Mahama’s leadership indicate a promising path for the party.

According to Ahiekpor, the performance and direction demonstrated by Mahama so far have resonated positively with the Ghanaian public. “With what we’ve seen from Mahama under one, if he continues like that, the reign of the NDC administration will last long in Ghana,” he stated, suggesting that consistency in leadership style and policy direction could secure long-term public confidence.

He noted that governance marked by responsiveness, experience, and a clear understanding of national challenges tends to build trust among citizens. Ahiekpor argued that when leaders show seriousness and clarity of purpose, voters are more likely to reward them with sustained support.

Ahiekpor’s assessment underscores the belief among some political observers that continuity in effective governance could significantly shape the country’s political future.
