Govt Outlines Arrangements For State Funeral Of Helicopter Crash Victims Set On Friday

The burial arrangements for the victims of the helicopter crash in Adansi Akrufuom on August 6 have been fully disclosed by the authorities.

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) will perform a full military service during the ceremony, which is scheduled for Friday, August 15, 2025.

The funeral will take place in three stages, according to Deputy Chief of Staff Stan Dogbe, who spoke at a press conference on Thursday, August 14. The major service will come after the Bible and Qur’an recitals, and the burial will come last.

At 7:30 a.m., the pre-burial program will begin, and it will conclude at 9:00 a.m. President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to arrive at 9:00 a.m. to begin the state service, while the vice president is anticipated to arrive at 8:50 a.m.

All eight crash victims’ biographies will be read during the three-hour ceremony, which will also include tributes from widows, kids, government leaders, and institutional representatives.Purchase best-selling books online.

Six of the victims’ corpses will be taken to the military cemetery in Tse Addo for burial after the service, with the GAF and the victims’ respective churches coordinating the funeral ceremonies.

Eight people died in the helicopter crash on August 6. In keeping with Islamic tradition, two victims, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, were buried on Sunday, August 10.
