The government’s strong commitment to the efficient operation and efficient management of basic education nationwide is reflected in the payment, according to a statement released by GES on Wednesday, July 23.

For public basic schools, the Capitation Grant is a vital source of revenue that makes it possible to buy instructional materials, make small repairs, and carry out other crucial school-based management tasks. Head teachers are empowered to function with more liberty and provide high-quality instruction more successfully when the award is disbursed on time.

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance were congratulated by the GES for making the payment a priority in spite of the present economic difficulties.

Additionally, it commended school administrators for their perseverance and commitment in maintaining classes and instruction throughout the payout delay.

“We implore all school administrators to utilize the funds sensibly and in accordance with the Capitation Grant utilization guidelines,” the statement read.

To guarantee accountability and value for money, district and regional monitoring teams will step up their oversight, it was noted.

In order to enhance learning outcomes, fortify school management systems, and advance inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education for all Ghanaian students, GES reaffirmed its dedication to collaborating with stakeholders.
