Commercial Transport Operators Press Release For Demand for Reduction of Spare Parts Prices

Press Release: Urgent Call to Action
To: Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Finance, Parliamentary Select Committee on Trade and Industry, Transport, and Finance

From: Commercial Transport Operators

Subject: Demand for Reduction of Spare Parts Prices

We, the Commercial Transport Operators, are compelled to issue this urgent call to action to the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Finance, and the Parliamentary Select Committee on Trade and Industry, Transport, and Finance.

Some time in March 2025, we engaged with spare parts dealers and government officials, and a promise was made to reduce the prices of spare parts. Unfortunately, this promise has not been fulfilled, and the prices remain exorbitant.

If immediate action is not taken, we fear that the situation will escalate, and we may be forced to take drastic measures that could disrupt transportation services. We cannot continue to operate under these unsustainable conditions.

We urge the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Ministry of Finance to intervene and ensure that spare parts dealers adhere to their promise. We also call on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Trade and Industry, Transport, and Finance to add their voice to this matter and hold the relevant stakeholders accountable.

We expect swift action to address this pressing issue. Failure to do so will have severe consequences for our industry and the economy as a whole.

Sincerely,
Commercial Transport Operators
