Captain Smart’s Comment on Abu Trica’s Arrest and NDC Losing Votes Is Irresponsible – Kwesi E. Baako Fires

Kwesi E. Baako has taken a swipe at broadcaster Captain Smart over comments linking the arrest of Abu Trica to potential vote losses for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.

Speaking on his Ikulcha Radio/TV programme, Baako described Captain Smart’s claims as irresponsible and speculative. He argued that suggesting the arrest of an individual could directly influence electoral outcomes for a political party, without credible evidence, amounts to misleading the public.

Baako emphasized that elections are influenced by complex factors and warned against oversimplifying political dynamics for sensational commentary. He noted that such narratives, when pushed by influential media personalities, risk creating unnecessary political tension and distorting public understanding of national issues.

He urged the broadcaster to exercise caution and uphold professionalism, especially when discussing sensitive matters involving arrests and electoral politics. According to him, media commentary must be rooted in facts, balance, and ethical responsibility
