Former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen, has stated that Bryan Acheampong possesses the financial capacity to singlehandedly fund the party’s campaign in the 2028 general elections.
He made this assertion on Ikulcha Radio/TV during a discussion with Kwesi E. Baako, following the conclusion of the NPP presidential primaries, which saw Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerge victorious with 56% of the vote.
According to Nana Obiri Boahen, beyond electoral victory, sustaining a strong national campaign requires enormous financial and logistical resources, an area where Bryan Acheampong stands out. He described Acheampong as one of the most financially empowered and influential figures within the party, capable of playing a decisive role in future elections.
His comments have added to the post-primaries discourse within the NPP, as party faithful and political analysts assess the roles key individuals may play in strengthening the party’s fortunes ahead of the 2028 elections.
