BREAKING: High Court Dismisses Gifty Oware-Mensah’s Application In NSA Ghost Names Case

The High Court in Accra has dismissed an application filed by former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Gifty Oware-Mensah, seeking to halt her ongoing criminal trial and refer constitutional issues to the Supreme Court. The court described the application as lacking merit and ordered her to comply with existing witness disclosure rules as proceedings continue.

Gifty Oware-Mensah has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including stealing, causing financial loss to the state, and money laundering, arising from the alleged National Service ghost names scandal involving about ₵38 million. She is currently on ₵10 million bail.

The court’s decision clears the way for the trial to proceed, reinforcing the need for adherence to procedural requirements. The case has been adjourned to 18th February for continuation.
