Agradaa Released After Spending 8 Months In Prison

Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has returned home after spending eight months in prison.

Her husband, Asiamah, announced the development on Facebook on Tuesday, March 3, expressing gratitude and relief. “Thank God my wife is finally home,” he wrote.

Nana Agradaa is expected to make her first public appearance later today when she joins her church congregation for fellowship, signalling her reintegration into public and church life.

She was initially handed a 15-year jail sentence on July 3, 2025, after being convicted of defrauding by false pretence and engaging in charlatanic activities.

However, her lawyers appealed the ruling, arguing that the sentence was unduly severe. The Amasaman High Court subsequently reviewed the case. At a hearing on February 5, 2026, the court reduced her sentence to 12 months on counts two and three, stating that the earlier punishment was excessive.

In addition, she was fined 200 penalty units (GH₵2,400), directed to refund GH₵1,000 to the two complainants, and given further fines in relation to count one.

Her release has sparked celebrations among her relatives, friends, and members of her church, who have welcomed her back warmly.
