Speaking on Joy FM’s AM Show, he told Host Bernice Abu-Baidoo Lansah that the Member of Parliament, considered by many as influential in the ranks of the party has after all, not contributed that much to the party.
“I don’t know Kennedy Agyapong in the party; I know somebody who makes noise in the party, but I don’t know Kennedy Agyapong”, he said.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said Ghanaians have a penchant to praise-sing people unnecessarily and thus lend credence to people like Kennedy Agyapong who he says has nothing to show as his contribution to the NPP.
“The problem also with us is that we always keep on praising people. What has he done for the party? … I don’t know him; others I mentioned I know them and I know the work they have done in the party” Dr. Tamakloe said.
He said, Dr. Bawumia, Mr. Alan Kyeremanten and Mr. Kwabena Agyapong are the front-runners but he also intimated that they all carry some baggage that is likely to affect their ambitions for the presidential race in 2024.
He said Alan Kyeremanten should have resigned from the Akufo Addo government which in his words is riddled with corruption and under-performance. “If Alan Kyeremanten had done that, I can assure you that he would have become the automatic leader of our tradition, but he couldn’t do it”, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe told the host.
He added that Kwabena Agyapong also failed to claim the spot as a potential leader of the tradition when he, after being removed from his position as General Secretary of the party, “left his colleagues with whom he was dismissed and walked back into the fold of the present government…”
He also cited Dr. Boakye Agyarko as one of the potential presidential material who also has to answer for why he was fired by the Akufo Addo government. He said there are some unexplained matters in that issue.
