New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was in the Bronx for a last minute campaign event ahead of tomorrow’s Democratic Primaries. The popular Governor together with his lieutenant Kathy Hochul and New York City Public Advocate who is in the race for State Attorney General attended a campaign event at Co-op City in the Bronx, in a last minute attempt to encourage voters to turn out and vote.

Addressing the jacked-up audience, Governor Cuomo said New York has not only seen progress under his patronage but also been a beacon for a culturally cohesive society. He blasted President Donald Trump for his policies which he said does not favor New Yorkers.

“President Trump shows that elections matter and if we don’t do what we need to do, bad things happen”, he said. He told the enthusiastic crowd that the Trump government is a “narrow minded administration” and that the Cuomo-Hochul-James ticket is the direct opposite of that. He said this is the team that will do the most good for all New Yorkers including Bronxites.

“When you go to the polls, I want you to be selfish; vote in your own interests” he said, vote for the team that is bringing back the Bronx”.

He further roasted President Trump for his tweeting habits. He attacks me on a weekly basis and I attack him right back… You know how he does that, he tweets. That’s how you know he’s not a real New Yorker. Tough guys  in New York, they don’t tweet”, he joked.

Public Advocate Leticia James on her part asked the voters to come out in their numbers to vote for “the notion that no one is above the law, including this President”. She said New Yorkers need someone with the right experience to fight for them on the state level and she has that experience.

Lieutenant- Governor Kathy Hochul said Governor Cuomo has been a blessing for the state and keeping the team in office for another four years will benefit the Bronx immensely. She also said the governor is at the forefront of resisting the policies of the current federal administration “We are all so blessed to live in a state with a governor who is literally leading the resistance against Donald Trump”, she said.

The “trinity’ was introduced by Bronx Borough President Reuben Diaz Jr. The African Peoples’ Alliance was also represented.
