Suspected Thief Burnt Alive In Kumasi

A young man believed to be in his late 30s only identified as Sule Edii suspected to have stolen a mobile phone at Asawase-Dogomoro park in the Ashanti region has been burnt to death.

Angry residents used tyres to set the suspected thief on fire when he was chased and arrested by some men in the area. According to an eyewitness, the suspect snatched someone’s phone around 10am yesterday evening and later broke into a neighbour’s house this dawn where he made away with all her belongings.

Young men in the area who were awake after an alarm had been raised beat him to pulp and later burnt him to death.

Airport District Police Commander, Superintendent James Annor who confirmed incident said, they have conveyed the charred body to the morgue. ‘l can confirm that we have an incident like that. After visiting the scene, the charred body was sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) morgue for autopsy.

We just mounted investigation into the circumstances that led to the lynching of the suspected criminal,’ he disclosed.

    It is wrong to necklace theieves. Nobody ever necklaces people. Who do worse things, than stealing. Stealing should even “be legal”. Because the media never addresses the fact, that some people steal. Because their family, are stingy to them. When your uncle (or whoever, you are living with). Doesn’t give you pocket money. Tell me why, such a person won’t steal
