Shocker: 40 Year Old Mother Poisons Daughters At Essikado

A 40-year-old woman has poisoned her two daughters to death at Essikado in the Western region.

The incident has thrown the community into a state of shock.

The woman, whose name was only given as Naana and is believed to be mentally challenged allegedly laced some pesticide with food to feed her innocent children late in the evening of Sunday Nov, 1.

The Mother has since been arrested whilst the bodies of the children, Maame Serwaa 10, and Maame Fulba 8, have been deposited at the Effia Nkwanta Hospital morgue for Autopsy.

According to neighbours who spoke to  Emmanuel Ohene Gyan, local Reporter said, the woman had separated from her husband (father of the deceased children) for some time now and was putting up with her sister together with the children.

Court had ordered the father to take custody of the children on November 2 which was due today but neighbours found the lifeless bodies of the children in their room with the mother sitting beside them unconcerned.
