NDC Youth Organizer Cleared To Contest Suame Primaries

The Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Brogya Genfi has been cleared by the party to contest as an aspirant for the Suame parliamentary primaries.

This was revealed by NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia in an interaction with the press at the party’s headquarters in Accra yesterday.

He explains that Brogya Genfi could not undergo vetting because he was sent on an official party assignment outside the country plus the fact that he is already a party officer in the region. He is therefore cleared to go ahead with his campaigning ahead of the party’s November 7 congress.

Brogya Genfi is therefore a legitimate aspirant who will be battling it out with his own friend Francis Dodovi to become Parliamentary candidate for the Suame Constituency in the Ashanti region.

It will be recalled that Brogya Genfi was earlier accused of forging signatures, presenting falsified documents and non-payment of filing fees of GHC10,000.

The Secretary of the party in Suame Constituency, Nurudeen Haruna told a press conference in Kumasi that by the close of nominations on September 17, Brogya Genfi had not met the requirements laid down in the party’s guidelines,

National Executives of the party have however clarified that Brogya Genfi has paid his filing fees and met all the requirements of the party.

The constituency secretary who sought to disqualify Brogya Genfi on a personal vendetta was also chastised and cautioned about the limitations of his authority in the party by the vetting committee .
