Doctors’ Strike: Ghana’s Korle-Bu Discharges Patients
Ghana’s major health referral center, the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), has begun the discharge of patients, well or not, as a result of the impending withdrawal of emergency and in-patient services by doctors.
The doctors have scheduled to withdraw those services after accusing government of ignoring their requests for proper conditions of service.
They had withdrawn out-patient services on Thursday, July 30 as a first step to resigning en bloc from the public sector.
According to their roadmap, there will be a mass resignation after Friday, August 14, if government had still not reached an agreement with them on their demands.
